Newly developed ultimate discs generate considerble impact force that contributes to the precise dispersion and icroparticulation.

The horizontal-type Mighty Mill Mark II is our latest enclosed Media Mill for micro-wet grinding and dispersion of high-tech products.

The Mighty Mill Mark II design results from our many years of engineering experience, providing optimal wet-grinding and dispersing properties through careful selection of disc shape, disc alignment and vessel design.

Variable speed control is included as a standard feature, allowing the disc-tip speed to be varied between 1 and 16 m/s. The energy imparted to the grinding beads can be adjusted to the level most suitable for the material being processed. This permits far higher throughput than with conventional models, and enables finer wet grindings and dispersion to be achieved (sharper particle-size distribution pattern.)

In designing the Mighty Mill Mark II we have given priority to safety, durability, ease of operation and ease of maintenance, resulting in a Media Mill of unrivalled performance.

Two types of Mighty Mill Mark II are available the MHSII, which employs a Cartridge Screen Separation system for separating the beads, and the MHGII, which employs a Gap Separation System.

Features

■Dispersion

➀Low D/d (ratio of the vessel inner diameter to disc outer diameter) enables high impact force of beads to be maintained,resulting in high dispersion force.

②Variable disc tip speed control allows optimal disc-tip speed to be achieved, resulting in large centrifugal forces on the beads, thereby increasing the impact force and hence the wet-grinding and dispersion effects.

③Newly-designed agitator disc incorporating special flow holes improves bead return, increases the grinding zone and prevents short passes of he product.

④Enlarge agitator disc outer diameter promotes more effective bead movement, increasing wet-grinding and dispersion effects.

⑤Features ① to ④ describe above result in a more even distribution of beads than in conventional models, thereby permitting an increased throughput rate and making it possible to fill up to 90% of the volume of the vessel with grinding beads.

■Completely Enclosed Vessel

The completely enclosed construction of the vessel prevents in-mixing of air, thereby eliminating bubbling and solvent evaporation.

■Bead Separation System

The grinding beads within the vessel are separated from the product using either a gap separation system or a cartridge screen separation system, depending on the properties of the product and the processing conditions.

■Shaft Seal

The superior reliability and durability of our specially-designed double mechanical seal allows the Mighty Mill Mark II to be operated at a maximum pressure of 0.7Mpa (7kgf/cm2), enabling high viscosity material to be processed.The seal is designed as a unit, facilitating removal and replacement.The sealing fluid can be the same or similar to the solvent, water, etc., contained in the material being processed for cooling and lubricating the sliding surface of the seal.

■Discs

The discs are made of tempered, wear-resistant steel, exhibiting excellent corrosion-resistance and ensuring a long service life.Discs made of other materials, to suit the product, are also available as an option.

■Jacket Cooling

A unique cooling jacket applied to the inner jacket of the grinding vessel provides higher cooling efficiency with conventional media mills.

■Maintenance

The Mighty Mill Mark II has a unit-based construction, facilitating dismantling, cleaning and replacement of parts.Maintenance time can therefore be reduced, providing savings on running costs.

■Safety Protection Controls

The Mighty Mill Mark II is equipped as standard with the following controls:

②Mechanical seal minimum liquid level sensor

③Mechanical seal maximum liquid temperature sensor

④Inner-vessel maximum pressure sensor

Further controls, sensors and measurement devices are also available as an option, permitting automatic or unmanned operation.

■Option

The vessel and discs are also available in materials other than wear resistant steel, for example alumina ceramic, silicone nitride ceramic or urethane rubber.Two or more Mighty Mill Mark II media mills can be arranged in tandem to achieve continuous operation.
