Circulation batch type media mill best suitable for high-mix/low-volume production. Easily cleaned since no feeding pump is required.

The MF Mill is a batch type media grinding mill, designed and manufactured to combine (1) the dispersing function using the high shearing force produced by grinding media inside the mill chamber and (2) the centrifugal pumping function using the self-suctioning type discs. The combination of these functions enables the MF Mill (1) to increase the amount of mill base suctioned, (2) to increase the number of batch turnovers compared with other conventional circulation type media mills, and (3) to reduce the processing time.

Furthermore, the residence time distribution and the particle size distribution of products are extremely sharp, since circulation is considerably increased.

Therefore, ultrafine particle sizes and efficient high-mix/low-volume production can be achieved. In order to provide optimum kinetic energy, the peripheral speed can be variable in the range of 2-16 m/sec. A wide variety of grinding media, such as glass beads, aluminum, titanic (titanium oxide), and zirconium ceramic beads, with diameter ranges between 0.5-2.0 mm can be used.

Since the suctioning inlet is located in the bottom of the mill chamber, there is no dead space in the bottom of the mill chamber. Additionally, since the flow direction of products is matched with the centrifugal force, circulation energy inside the mix tank is considerably enhanced. As the result, all processing stages, such as the pre-mixing stage, the dispersion stage, the letdown stage, and the adjustment stage, can be conducted with a single machine.

■Circulation Flow Volume

A large circulation flow volume can be achieved by self-suctioning type discs. This leads to the increase in the mixing energy and a greater number of batch turnovers.

■Production Process

Due to the optimized mixing energy and versatile design, all processing stages, such as the pre-mixing stage, the dispersion stage, the letdown stage, and the adjustment stage, can be conducted with a single machine.

■Dispersion

As a result of the drastic increase in circulation velocity and batch turnovers, the MF Mill has more than three times the dispersion capability per unit volume, compared with conventional media mills.

■Batch Size

The MF Mill can flexibly handle a variety of batch sizes thanks to its high flow volume.

■Media Separation

The MF Mill uses a gap separation system to separate media from the mill base. This allows for high flow volume and prevents media clogging.

■Mill Base Viscosity

The high suctioning energy of the MF Mill enables it to process wide range of mill base viscosity (~4000mPa s).

■Cleaning

The MF Mill can be cleaned very easily and is perfectly suited to high-mix/low-volume production. For cleaning, just immerse a mill chamber inside a mixing vessel with cleaning liquid and run the machine.

■Option

A blade to scrape processed material off the wall of the mixing vessel can be supplied as an optional extra. This option allows the MF Mill to handle more viscous materials.
